Martyn Leigh: Family and Community Engagement Manager
Martyn has over 25 years of experience, working for the local authority in Milton Keynes. This was predominantly working with Adults with a Learning Disability in a variety of management roles and settings, Martyn joined Aspens in July 2023, and his real passion has been in helping staff develop and gain confidence in their own abilities, to support positive outcomes and improve the quality of life for those accessing our services.
Outside of work, Martyn is married with 2 teenage daughters and a Shih-Tzu (Misty). He likes travelling with his family. He also supports Leeds United and loves American Football.
Amy Van-Mol: Family and Community Engagement Manager
Amy has 20 years experience working with families, children and adults in custody and in the community. With a strengths-based approach she enjoys supporting others to overcome barriers to achieve their goals.
Amy joined Aspens in June 2023 to be a part of this incredible programme that has delivered above and beyond our best hopes! Amy has a lifetime of lived experience supporting autistic family members and professional knowledge across multiple settings. At home, Amy is married with two young daughters. To relax Amy likes to read, study, garden and visit the beach. She also volunteers at a Primary school.
Kelly Ikin – Family Wraparound Coordinator (Berkshire and Buckinghamshire)
Kelly has previously been a Family Support Worker delivering parenting programs. Kelly is also a Community Teaching Facilitator supporting young adults with disabilities and Autism to achieve life skills and qualifications. Kelly Joined Aspens to continue supporting families. Kelly thrives on getting positive outcomes for the families she supports and likes to empower them to become more positive, proactive, and knowledgeable.
Kelly has met some wonderful families and is looking forward to meeting many more. Kelly is passionate about Autism as she has 2 older children who have Autism and ADHD. Kelly loves spending quality time with her family.
Lizzy Van Tromp – Family Wraparound Coordinator (West Sussex)
Since her Autism diagnosis in 2017, Lizzy found her true vocation, designing and delivering bespoke Autism training to parents/carers and professionals using her own insights as a late diagnosed Autistic adult and mum to Autistic boys.
Lizzy is passionate about improving psychoeducation and self-advocacy in the Autistic community. As a member of Aspens Family Support Services, she is a confidential, compassionate and practical peer supporter to parents of neurodivergent children and young people. In her free time Lizzy enjoys gardening, nature photography and wild swimming adventures with her husband and sons.
Steph Windas – Family Wraparound Coordinator (West Sussex)
Steph has been working with children and families for over 25 years. She began her career working as a nanny which took her all over the world and enabled her to work with a diverse range of families. Steph has also worked in Early Years settings and schools. At Aspens Steph is particularly enjoying using her experience to offer support and guidance to families.
Outside of work Steph enjoys spending time with her family and friends and when she gets time enjoys running on the seafront, reading one of her book club books or attempting to paddle board.
Roisin Arnold – Family Wraparound Coordinator (Kent)
Roisin is Mum to two young autistic boys and before joining Aspens, worked in primary education for ten years. Roisin enjoyed teaching children with additional needs, particularly creating strategies to help neurodivergent children thrive and find joy in learning.
Roisin enjoys sharing information and knowledge, to support families in feeling empowered to navigate any challenges they may face.
Outside of work Roisin is kept busy by her two children (and her cats!). Roisin enjoys getting outdoors for a walk with her family and practising yoga to relax.
Caroline Roope – Family Wraparound Coordinator (Hampshire and IOW)
Following her MA, Caroline spent over ten years working in educational settings planning and delivering accessible events and engagement opportunities for young people and their carers. Caroline’s eldest son is autistic, and she knows how challenging it can be to access support, particularly before and immediately after diagnosis. She is looking forward to helping Hampshire families become confident in advocating for their child or young person.
In her spare time, Caroline loves immersing herself in history! As well as visiting historic buildings, Caroline has written several history books She also enjoys creating miniature worlds, and collects and restores dolls houses.
